Ok...when should I start giving Julian baby food...like carrotts and such? He has been on cereal for almost 2 months now and I think he maybe getting tired of it...if that is possible. I was just wondering. And did anyone make their own baby food. We were thinking about making our own carrotts. Just another thought! Thanks all!!!

Hi Colette,
I have been giving Hannah rice cereal too (it has been a month). I did experiment one day and gave her some oatmeal baby cereal and it didn't agree with her (diarhea). So, I think I will stick with the recomendations in the baby books to introduce fruits and veggies at 6 months. I just worry that maybe their little digestive systems cant handle it until then. I do believe that mommies know what is best for their babies, so in the end just go with your gut feeling. I did buy a book on making your own baby purees and it looks really easy. You just make up a batch in the blender or cuisinart and then freeze it in ice cube trays.
Hi Colette!
We added the "white" foods about 2 weeks after the cereal...started with pears, applesauce etc. then added the yellow foods and finally the greens...both boys were about 4-5 months when they started with the jars!
Good luck!
I know there are some great books out there on making your own food and which to start with. I think my friend started with avacodos, not sure why, but that is what her book suggested. Good luck and I want to see pics!

We (I) made our own baby food. It was so easy and I felt good knowing exactly what he was eating. It has been waaaay too long to remember how old he was though. We just froze it in ice cube trays and popped out what we needed. I found an ice cube tray with a lid so it stayed fresh. Good luck!
